What is Giveety?

Giveety is a digital platform that connects volunteers (called "Contributees") with social, environmental, cultural and educational organizations. Its tagline is "empowering humanity". Beyond mission matching, Giveety formally certifies the engagement of each volunteer through certificates, badges and experience points, turning volunteering into a recognized learning path.

Who founded Giveety and who operates it?

Giveety was founded by Caroline Kant in 2019 during a collaboration between HEC Lausanne and the Digital Circle around the question: "How can the digital realm help recognize volunteering?". In 2020 the initiative was structured as Association tech-id, a Swiss non-profit (Geneva) that has been operating Giveety ever since.

Is Giveety free for volunteers?

Yes. Contributee accounts are free of charge: create an account, browse missions, participate, and collect certificates and experience points. The platform sustains itself through optional services for partner organizations, not user fees.

What does Giveety offer to organizations (Managers)?

Accepted Answer

For associations and foundations ("Managers"), Giveety simplifies volunteer-management tasks: creating missions, planning, publishing announcements, recruiting Contributees, validating participations and issuing certificates. The platform is co-developed with partner organizations to stay aligned with real-world operational constraints.

How is volunteer engagement recognized and valued?

Each completed mission grants experience points, badges and formal certifying documents (Certificats and Attestation Giveety) that attest to the volunteer's engagement to recruiters and training organizations. Giveety treats volunteering as a learning opportunity, surfacing both technical and human skills that can be valued professionally.

What sectors and causes are covered by Giveety missions?

Accepted Answer

Missions span environment, education and culture, social solidarity, and more — published by partner associations and foundations from various horizons. Volunteers can search by organization (find-an-organization), by project (find-a-project) or by activity (find-an-activity).

Which languages does Giveety support?

Accepted Answer

The product UI is available in French, English, Spanish, Italian and German. The Giveety FAQ is curated in French and translated on demand. The platform is primarily used in French-speaking Europe.

The full FAQ is exposed as a JSON API at https://api.faq.giveety.org, split between a "Contributee" audience (volunteers) and a "Manager" audience (association managers). The Hub FAQ at https://giveety.org/faq exposes the same content with a human-friendly UI.
